The Black Sheep Brewery was established by Paul Theakston in 1991.
The brewery produces a range of well-hopped bitters, to distinguish itself from Theakston’s range of fruity and yeasty beers. The brewery quickly became successful after formation, and now produces over 75,000 barrels a year.
BlackSheep Brewery e only brew their beers from traditional high-quality raw materials: crystal clear dales water from our own well, Maris Otter malted barley for extra flavour, some wheat to fortify our beers’ natural head, a little roasted malt for colour and flavour, and generous amounts of whole English hops to make the beer really refreshing.

Real Ale Review is a place where I review the beer I’ve drunk along with a few taste notes. The idea was to discover a new favourite drink but i’m now addicted to finding new ones.
Hopefully you will find a new real ale to try. Feel free to add your own opinion and ratings to an existing ale review or submit a review of your favourite ale.
