One of Manchester’s newest breweries, Runaway was set up by school friends Mark Welsby and Darren Clayson, and started brewing in June 2014. The guys found a 5.5 BBL brew kit in Gloucestershire and made their new home in a railway arch just around the corner from Black Jack brewery, in Manchester’s resurgent Angel Meadow neighbourhood.

Commercial Description: “We brew unpretentious, great tasting, modern beer that appeals to anyone looking for real flavour in their drink, and who is prepared to try new things to get it. We brew by hand in small batches at our microbrewery in central Manchester. Our beer is unfiltered, unpasteurised and conditioned in keg and bottle to retain as much flavour as possible.”

Beer:

Runaway Pale Ale (4.7%)

Crisp, dry, refreshing Pale Ale with a big citrus character

Runaway IPA (5.5%)

Our signature IPA with juicy tropical fruit flavours and aromas

Runaway Smoked Porter (6.0%)

Rich, luxurious, full bodied porter, with a sweet, warming, but subtle smoked character

American Brown Ale (5.7%)

Seriously moreish Brown Ale with caramel sweetness balanced by big flavour hops
