Commercial description: Double Stout is smooth and full-bodied with a refreshing hoppy aftertaste. A blend of dark malts give it a character all of its own. Black malt enriches the colour and teases the palate, and brown malt gives it the dryness.

Double Stout pours very dark, almost black with a creamy, light tan head that has a descent retention.

Faint chocolate aroma with a hint of liquorice, some coffee notes and some herbal and grassy hints. Nothing complex, but nice.

The taste is Coffee, burnt dark bread with earthy elements and some grassy hints. A little thin for a stout in my opinion, medium bodied and smooth

Overall, a little thin for a Double Stout but nevertheless very nice.

Aroma: Faint chocolate and liquorice

Taste: Coffee and burnt dark bread

Strength: 4.8% ABV

Brewery: Hook Norton Brewery
